The FAN5626 is a 6-channel current-sink linear LED driver used to backlight the main LCD display or keypad in mobile electronics, such as cellular phone handsets. A very low dropout of 50mV allows driving LEDs without any inductors or switch capacitors. The brightness levels of the LED outputs are programmed through single-wire digital control interface. The user can program 32 linear dimming steps and turn on and off the LEDs through this interface by applying digital pulses. The FAN5626 linear LED driver provides high efficiency due to the low drop-out voltage of the LED driver. Good matching between different channels of LED output is provided across the entire 32 dimming steps. These LED driver also integrates short-circuit, under-voltage, and thermal protections to ensure a robust solution.The FAN5626 is available in a very small form-factor 10-lead MicroPak™ MLP package.

The FAN5776 is a synchronous, constant-current LED driver capable of efficiently driving up to ten LEDs in a five-string, two-series LEDs per string configuration. Optimized for small form-factor applications, the 1.8 MHz switching frequency allows the use of tiny chip inductors and capacitors.For safety, the device features integrated over-voltage, short-circuit, and thermal shutdown protections. In addition, input under-voltage lockout protection is triggered if the battery voltage is too low. The FAN5776 is comprised of low-dropout, high-side current sources, enabling a high efficiency delivery of power from the battery to the LEDs. The LED current control is established with a series RSET resistor, which is connected between the internal voltage reference on the chip and ground. During operation, FAN5776 holds the boost regulator’s voltage on COUT during the off cycle of the PWM dimming, which helps minimize audible noise.The FAN5776 is available in a very low profile, small-form-factors 1.42 x 1.66 x 0.50 mm, 12-bump WLCSP package that is “green” and RoHS compliant.

FAN562x Linear LED Drivers
On Semiconductor FAN562x Linear LED Drivers are two, four, and six-channel current-sink linear drivers. These LED drivers are available in FAN5622, FAN5624, and FAN5626 variants. The FAN562x feature single-wire digital interface that is used to backlight the main LCD displays or keypads in mobile electronics. These LED drivers provide high efficiency due to the low drop-out voltage of the LED drivers. The FAN5622, FAN5624, and FAN5626 are available in  6-pin super SOT23, 10-lead UMLP, and 10-lead MicroPak™ MLP packages, respectively.
