NXP Semiconductors Near Field Communication (NFC) Solutions offer wireless communication that is intuitive, low power, and inherently secure. As proximity technology, NFC only works when two devices are brought close together, so eavesdropping is almost impossible.NFC is a specialized subset of RF Identification (RFID). It operates at 13.56MHz and performs many of the same functions as RFID tags and contactless smartcards.NFC can use a Passive or Active communication scheme. In the Passive scheme, the initiating device provides power to the target device. This saves energy, and allows use of a target device without its own power source. In the Active scheme both devices require power, but more sophisticated interactions can take place.When adding NFC to a design, there are three options to choose from: NFC Frontends, which provide just the NFC function, NFC Controllers, which combine the NFC Frontend with a microcontroller, and NFC Connected Tag ICs, which are passive microchips used in smart NFC tags.Learn More

NXP Semiconductor CLRC663 Plus is a high-performance, multi-protocol, NFC Frontend offering full RF standard compliance.The CLRC663 Plus operates from a power supply voltage as low as 2.5V for battery-powered systems more efficient. The CLRC663 Plus features an extended temperature range from -40 to +105°C, so it's an ideal choice for applications that need to operate under challenging conditions or in industrial environments.The CLRC663 Plus offers a maximum operating transmitter current of 350mA with limiting value of 500mA.
