Synchronous Step Down Switcher: TPS54620
The OMO Electronic TPS54620 17V, 6A synchronous step down converter is optimized for small designs through high efficiency and integrated high-side and low-side MOSFETs. The TI TPS54620 achieves further space savings through current mode control, which reduces component count, and a high switching frequency. The TPS54620 synchronous step down converter includes an SS/TR pin that controls the output voltage startup ramp and allows operation as either a stand alone power supply or in tracking situations. The TI TPS54620 includes cycle by cycle current limiting on the high-side fet that protects the device in overload situations and is enhanced by a low-side sourcing current limit that prevents current runaway.
