    The adaptor is working.you can easily turn it into a programmer also.if you upload the code using Arduino ide, and the module does not work after it, it is not a chip problem, is an Arduino ide issue.more precise you have to downgrade the esp8266 library to 2.4.0. it does not work with higher versions.
