The FSGM0565R is an integrated Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) controller and SenseFET specifically designed for offline Switch-Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) with minimal external components. The PWM controller includes an integrated fixed-frequency oscillator, Under-Voltage Lockout (UVLO), Leading- Edge Blanking (LEB), optimized gate driver, internal soft-start, temperature-compensated precise current sources for loop compensation, and self-protection circuitry. Compared with a discrete MOSFET and PWM controller solution, the FSGM series can reduce total cost, component count, size, and weight; while simultaneously increasing efficiency, productivity, and system reliability. This device provides a basic platform suited for cost-effective design of a flyback converter.
FSGM0565R FPS™ Off-Line Power Switch
ON Semiconductor FSGM0565R FPS™ off-line power switch achieves exceptional standby power consumption (120mW at 265Vac in with 25mW of load) in a 66kHz flyback converter. The ON Semiconductor FSGM0565R is the only power switch in the industry that integrates drain-current sensing in a 650V internal avalanche-rugged SenseFET. This Fairchild Semiconductor off-line power switch reduces power dissipation and improves reliability by shortening the over-current time delay to less than 200ns. The FSGM0565R FPS off-line power switch features many advanced features such as auto-restart, a wide supply voltage range (12 to 24Vdc), built-in 15ms soft-start, and enhanced lightning surge immunity. The FSGM0565R provides easier design in off-line power supplies.
