THAT Blackmer® Voltage Controlled Amplifier
THAT Corporation's 2162 device contains two high-performance Blackmer® voltage-controlled amplifiers (VCAs). With two opposing-polarity, voltage-sensitive control ports, the 2162 offers wide-range exponential control of gain and attenuation with low signal distortion. The VCAs are trimmed at wafer stage to deliver low distortion and control-voltage feed-through without further adjustment. The device operates from a split power supply up to ±16Vdc, drawing only 5.2mA at ±15V and 3mA at ±5V. The amplifier can also operate at supply voltages as low as ±2.25V, making it suitable for battery-operated applications. THAT Corporation's 2162 device is a replacement for discontinued SSM2164 quad VCA.
