PSE Interface and DC-DC Controller
The Silicon Labs Si3460 PSE Interface and DC-DC Controller is a single-port -48V power management controller for IEEE 802.3af-compliant power sourcing equipment (PSE) that is designed to minimize system cost and increase ease of implementation in embedded PSE endpoint or midspan applications. The Silicon Labs Si3460 operates directly from a 12V or 15V input supply and integrates a digital PWM-based DC-DC converter for generating the -48V PST output supply. The Si3460 controller includes an IEEE-required PD detection feature that uses a robust 3-point algorithm to avoid false detection events. This Silicon Labs controller is designed to operate completely independently of host processor control.
